Younhee Paik, President: she founded CHIM studio (Younhee Paik’s Studio for Art and Music) in 2013 and serves as the foundation president.
She received her BFA from Seoul National University and her MFA from the San Francisco Art Institute.
Youngik Paik, Vice President: he is an attorney based in Boston, MA. He served for over seven years as an Assistant United States Attorney
at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Massachusetts, where he investigated and prosecuted a wide range of federal crimes, and assisted
with community reentry programs for prisoners. Youngik received a B.A. from Tufts University and a J.D. from the University of North Carolina at
Chapel Hill School of Law.
Jeewon Paik, Secretary: she is a mother of two currently living in New Jersey. She graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with
a BA in Art History and enjoys working with children by volunteering at her daughters’ school and church.
Veronika Paik, Treasurer: she is an investment professional based in Boston, MA. She previously worked in investor relations roles at Sirios
Capital Management and Wellington Management. Veronika graduated from Suffolk University, summa cum laude, and is a CFA charter-holder.
Yeuen Kim MD: she is a staff physician working in medical homeless outreach at the Veterans Affairs, Palo Alto Division. She loves working with
trainees and faculty through medical humanities (narrative and visual art to improve medical education and practice) as a clinical assistant professor
(affliated,) Stanford University School of Medicine.
James Kim: he is a partner and co-founder of Qatalyst, a technology focused investment bank that provides advisory services for mergers and acquisitions. James graduated from Stanford University with a degree in economics and currently lives in the Bay Area.
Jean Ahn: she is a composer/Lecturer at UC Berkeley. She has her Ph.D. from UC Berkeley and M.A. and B.A. from Seoul National University.

Younhee Paik, Painter and Foundation President
Younhee Paik is a dedicated and renowned painter and has exhibited more than 40 solo exhibitions in museums including the Korean National Museum, Venice Biennale (1995), New York Stony Brook Museum, & San Jose ICA and galleries throughout the U.S.A. and S. Korea. As a volunteer, she taught visual art at the Creative Growth Art Center in Oakland for 3 years.
Jean Ahn, Composer and Music Educator
Born in Korea, Jean Ahn finished her B.A. and M.M. at Seoul National University and her Ph.D. at UC Berkeley. Her creative output includes works ranging from solo instruments to full orchestra, as well as choral, dance, and electroacoustic music. She is the director of Ensemble ARI and a Lecturer at UC Berkeley.
Alice Suhyun Park, Art Educator
Growing up in Korea, Alice devoted her youth to studying fine art. In 2006, she moved to San Francisco and earned an MFA in Fine Art Illustration from The Academy of Art. For many years in the San Francisco Bay Area, she worked as a children’s book illustrator and kid’s app designer. Now she is part of the public school district and provides social, and behavioral support and supervision to students with special needs in the public school and the community.
Andrew Rhim, Guitarist and Music Educator
Born in San Francisco, Andrew is a Bay Area native and a professional guitarist, music producer, and engineer. Andrew began playing classical piano from a young age but having grown up listening to Simon & Garfunkel and the Beach Boys with his parents, Andrew fell in love with the guitar. A graduate of Berklee College, Andrew has toured across the U.S. and the world in countries like Australia, Singapore, the Philippines, and many more.
Kangsik Kay, Program Advisor
Kangsik Kay earned a BA in architectural design from Han Yang University in Seoul, S. Korea. In 1971, he immigrated to the U.S.A. and worked as an architect for 35 years. Now as a retiree, he enjoys painting, gardening, and helping with CHIM classes.
Karen Emery, Yoga Educator
Karen Emery is a certified Pilates instructor. She has been teaching classes and training for over 25 years. Classes are taught in small groups and private sessions are taught at her home studio. She is also a personal chef for many families who want to eat healthy, nutritious meals. Fitness, health, and happiness are her primary focus.
Hyunji Park, Music Educator & Video Editor
native Seoul in Korea holds a GPD in piano performance from the Peabody Conservatory. She has over 20 years of professional musical experience as a soloist, collaborative performer, music educator, choir conductor, arranger, and director of music organizations. She has worked in music programs with students of different education for several years, getting her missions through music to get closer to the people who love music and healing the communities. Currently, she is an Active member of MTAC, an artistic director of Celeste Solo Ensemble, a music director of Canaan KUMC, and co-music director of Younhee Paik’s Studio for Art & Music(CHIM).
Eddie Kim, Volunteer
Eddie Kim is a student who lives in Oakland, California. He goes to Bishop O’Dowd High School and is currently a sophomore. He plays cello in the Oakland Youth Orchestra. He is also an active scout in the Boy Scouts organization and is the star rank. In his free time, he likes to talk with friends, play cello, and draw. He enjoys helping people with art.

Eliani Kim is currently a student at Miramonte High School and enjoys swimming, learning music, and expressing herself through art.

Abigail is currently a high school student who loves art and music. She also enjoys playing sports and sharing the joy of creating at CHIM!
